“Transforming Lives, Transforming Communities!”
To do so we reach out to individuals and non-profits. We want to see our youth succeed in school and in life. We want to see families overcome the barriers they face. Yet, there is a lot to do for Santa Ana, too much for one Community Development Corporation to do on its own. To make a serious impact on all that challenges our community faces, we want to help others develop in their capacity to reach out to those in need; to transform lives, to transform communities together!
Tesoros de Esperanza: Abstinence Training for Teens
- Tesoros de Esperanza imparts abstinence till marriage education to youth of the challenged and at-risk communities of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties, California. Through abstinence classes, mentoring gatherings, assemblies, teen rallies, parent education seminars and parent orientations, Tesoros de Esperanza prepares teenagers, ages 12-18, to postpone sexual activity until marriage while at the same time creating an environment within communities that supports teens’ decisions to be abstinent. The program encourages teens to come up with a “game plan” for their lives and to focus on education as a means of achieving their goals.
Acts of Compassion Transforming Society (ACTS) Justice Team
- PAH is Edward B. Cole’s afterschool program. It integrates physical education, the arts (dance, drama, music) and homework
assistance for its students and other children from the community.
PAH Club is committed to encouraging, guiding and creating a positive environment
for all its students.
CCF Grant: Desarrollo Project
- In Santa Ana alone there are 976 non-profits. According to research conducted by Educational Public Policy & Consulting Global Management, Inc. (EPPC), 703 out of the 976 organizations do not fit in systems of care and support. The Desarrollo Project addresses this need by providing technical assistance and training to develop growth in tax-exempt organizations in the areas of: a) leadership development, b) organizational development, c) program development, d) community engagement, and e) program development. As a supplement to the training, technical assistance, coaching and modeling offered, grants are provided to build capacity. To download the press release click here. Below you will find the projects that are currently being developed. These are exciting times at Templo Calvario CDC!
Family Institute
- Templo Calvario CDC is developing a Family Institute that will work with local families for a more prosperous community. By coming alongside families, we hope to provide the education and services that are needed for healthier and happier homes. More information coming soon.
Youth Center
- The former Templo Calvario sanctuary became vacant as the congregation moved to their newly constructed building. Left behind was this 18,000 sq. ft. facility. It became obvious that it could be the ideal place to have a youth center, as it stands idle watching teens walking to its next door neighbors Spurgeon Intermediate School and NOVA Academy: Early College High School. Ready to match the need, a coalition was formed and a strategic plan is in place to create this safe and educational environment for teens. More information soon!
Incubator
- Templo Calvario CDC helps foster the development of young non-profits by providing the necessary training, guidance, and infrastructure for them to acquire their 501c3 status.
Project (Be)lieve
- Their mission is to prevent at-risk behavior in homeless and disadvantaged youth,
by providing one-on-one mentorship, education, and life development skills to empower
and equip each youth to reach their full potential, encouraging a future of success.
